These shows are highly addictive and hugely bingeable. You may need to turn the subtitles on unless you’re also hoping to pick up a foreign language while in quarantine.

Crash Landing on You (2019) Netflix

The premise of this show may be a little far-fetched but stay with us: A South Korean businesswoman crash-lands in North Korea, straight into the arms of a North Korean army captain. This K drama is light, heart-warming and fun to watch. The show is bolstered by the delightful chemistry of two top South Korean actors: Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin. The 16 episodes rank as one of the highest rated Korean dramas of all time. 

Money Heist (La casa de papel) (2017) Netflix

This Spanish show centres around a man known as the Professor who attempts to pull off the biggest heist on the Royal Mint of Spain in Madrid alongside his gang of bandits. Money Heist is critically acclaimed and the most-watched series on Netflix. Be warned: You’ll need to set aside a few days to watch this show as it is all-consuming. Part 4 dropped at the beginning of April. 

Schitt’s Creek (2015) Netflix 

Looking for a good wholesome Canadian show? Of course you are, eh! Schitt’s Creek is a sitcom about the members of the wealthy Rose family who find themselves without their fortune. Created by father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy, Schitt’s Creek offers 80 syrupy episodes of Canadian togetherness with the finale airing mid-pandemic. Peaky Blinders (2013) Netflix

A British period drama about a gangster family? Brilliant! This award-winning series is set at the end of the First World War and follows the exploits of the Shelby crime family as they expand from their stronghold in Birmingham, England.
